Orunodoi Rs 2500 August 2026: The Assam government will release a special Rs 2,500 payment on August 1 for eligible beneficiaries in four flood-affected districts.

Guwahati, 29 July: A special relief package has been introduced by the Assam Government for the Orunodoi beneficiaries staying in the flood-affected areas of the state. As stated by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Orunodoi grant will now be paid out on August 1, 2026, instead of the originally planned date of August 3, so that financial relief could be provided to flood-affected families sooner.
Under this relief package, the beneficiaries from the Sivasagar, Charaideo, Jorhat, and Golaghat districts will get ₹2,500 in the month of August. This special grant has been issued to assist the families to meet their day-to-day requirements after facing flooding.
As stated by the chief minister, the decision to provide a special relief package has been taken since a large number of families in these districts have faced losses due to the heavy rainfall and flooding.
This additional ₹2,500 will be transferred directly into the bank account of those who are qualified for the Orunodoi program via the Direct Benefit Transfer scheme. There is no need for any additional application to get this aid.
Furthermore, the Assam government has requested that people should only rely on official notifications for news on the Orunodoi scheme. The amount will be transferred starting from August 1, 2026, according to the notification by the Chief Minister.
