Assam Weather Alert: Get the latest ASDMA and IMD weather updates, heavy rainfall warnings, affected districts, and safety tips for people across Assam.

The Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) has issued an updated Assam Weather Alert that mentions heavy rains, thunderstorms, lightning, and gale-force winds in several regions of the state in the next 24 hours. The Assam Weather Alert has been issued on the basis of the current prediction provided by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
As per the Assam Weather Alert, heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur in several districts, while thunderstorms with lightning and strong winds may hit several other regions. ASDMA has asked district authorities to remain vigilant and get their emergency services ready in case of any floods or weather emergencies.
ASDMA has issued an alert for the Sivsagar district river Dikhou and the Golaghat district river Dhansiri south.
The disaster management department is monitoring the weather situation as it evolves, in coordination with the district administration and other emergency departments. It has been advised that people should depend only on the official announcements made by ASDMA and IMD regarding the weather forecast and, in case of an emergency, inform the local administration without fail.
The concerned authorities have requested that people must be calm and vigilant and also follow all the safety precautions until the weather improves. According to the recent forecast, rainfall can persist in many parts of Assam.
