The government plans to implement Mission Senehjori into action over the next three years with a huge investment of ₹400 crore. This scheme is going to be a big help to a lot of people – around 2.6 lakh of them, to be exact. It will benefit people who raise silkworms, farmers, weavers, and entrepreneurs who are all connected to the Muga silk industry.
The government has a plan to make the Muga silk industry stronger. To do this, they will help create about 1,800 groups for farmers to work together and 300 organizations to support them in producing and selling their silk. The initiative aims to strengthen Muga silk production, improve marketing, and build a more organized value chain across Assam by 2028.
