The Assam Government has come up with the idea of the “Chief Minister’s Fellow Programme” (CMF), which is part of the “Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan” (CMAAA). The two-year fellowship will try to build the CMAAA and promote entrepreneurship in Assam. Those selected for the fellowship will be given consolidated remuneration of Rs 6 lakh for the first year of the program. The application process for the program started on November 1, 2026, and will close on November 14, 2026.
Assam CM Fellowship 2026 Eligibility Criteria and Required Qualifications
The eligible candidates for the Assam CM Fellowship 2026 are expected to fulfill the following criteria:
- Academic qualification: The candidate must have completed his/her MBA or its equivalent qualification or any master’s degree in social sciences, public policy, or development studies.
- Academic Percentage: The candidate must have at least 60% marks or its equivalent CGPA in the qualifying degree.
- Preferred Educational Institutions: Preferably, the candidate should be from any of the following educational institutions—IIM, IIT, IRMA, TISS, and NIRD.
- Language Skills: The candidate must be well-versed in the local languages of Assam, apart from English and Hindi.
- Interest in Public Service: The candidate must be interested in public service and program management.
Assam CM Fellow Salary 2026: Remuneration and Job Responsibilities
Under the Chief Minister’s Fellow scheme, selected fellows will get monetary compensation for the two years of the fellowship.
- Compensation in the First Year: The first year’s compensation for the selected fellows will be ₹6 lakh as a consolidated amount.
- Compensation in the Second Year: The compensation mentioned for the second year is ₹6.60 lakh.
- Duration of the Fellowship: The scheme is scheduled to last for two years.
- Collaboration with the Government: The fellows will get an opportunity to work with the Assam government’s top-level management.
- Assistance to Entrepreneurs: They will assist the aspiring entrepreneurs through CMAAA, initiated by the Chief Minister.
- Developing the Business: The fellows will also collaborate with the CMAAA entrepreneurs to make them creditworthy and financially assisted.
The scheme will help in bringing young and capable professionals into contact with entrepreneurship development initiatives of Assam.

Interested candidates can apply for the fellowship of the Chief Minister’s Fellow Scheme through the official CMAAA website. The application will be done in the online mode, and candidates need to complete their applications within the deadline.
