Guwahati, July 23: The CMO (Chief Minister’s Office), Assam, has posted the latest flood report update on its official X (previously Twitter) handle, as per the latest data provided by the ASDMA (Assam State Disaster Management Authority).
As per the latest ASDMA report, the flood and urban flood situation in the state is ongoing in 11 districts and 883 villages, affecting a total of 721,024 people in the state of Assam. The state government is undertaking relief and rescue operations from 103 relief camps and 255 relief distribution centers, with 24,124 people currently being sheltered at such centers. As per the latest report, the total crop area affected by the flood waters is 25,375.44 hectares, while the death toll stands at 47.
Further, the report brings to light the issue of urban flooding, with currently three districts and five revenue circles under its influence. Urban flooding has affected a total of 592 people, out of which 86 people are present in the relief camps. The total death toll because of urban flooding is one.
The ASDMA remains on constant watch for any updates regarding the issue and keeps updating the flood data statistics; the Office of the Chief Minister, through its social media sites, keeps the people updated with such official statistics.
