According to some sources, Badruddin Ajmal is the richest person of Assam. He is a politician and businessman. He is the founder of AIUDF (All India United Democratic Front). He was a member of parliament from the Dhubri constituency.
Early life and Family
Badruddin Ajmal was born on 12 February 1950 in Hojai. His father’s name was Haji Ajmal Ali, who had started a perfume business in Mumbai, so their family shifted to Mumbai.

He was born into a Muslim family in Assam. Before shifting to Mumbai, his father was a farmer, but after shifting to Mumbai, they started a perfume business. In the 1960s, they opened their first perfume brand store. He did Master’s degree in theology and Arabic from Darul Uloom Deoband.
Career
He is a politician; he has been a Member of Parliament since 2009 to 2024. Badruddin Ajmal was the founder of AIUDF; he established this political party in 2005. Many sources consider him the richest person of Assam. He established 25 educational institutes and also established a hospital in Karimganj. He established the Ajmal Foundation for operating those institutes.
In the 2006 election, AIUDF wins 10 seats. He won from the Dhubri Constituency in 2009. He is the trustee of Haji Abdul Majid Memorial in Hojai, which is basically a charitable trust. Those sources say that he is the richest person of Assam.

As per the election affidavit, Badruddin Ajmal has 155 cr assets. Also, he declares himself that his annual income is 1.4 cr and liabilities 1.2 cr. This source also proves that he is the richest person of Assam. Ajmal’s assets have increased by Rs 112 cr in the last 10 years, according to the affidavit submitted by the election commission in 2024, whereas, according to the ADR report in 2019, Badruddin Ajmal’s assets were worth around 78 cr.
