Anurag Saikia was born in December 1988 into a musical family in Assam. The region’s rich musical traditions deeply influenced him. His mother, Dipali Saikia, is an All India Radio artist and teacher, and his father, Dr. Anil Saikia, is an academician. He completed his graduation from Cotton University.
He studied music at the prestigious Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute in Kolkata, one of the premier institutions for film and music education in India. His training in sound design and music composition gave him a strong foundation in various musical styles. Saikia is known for syncing Borgeets with symphonic orchestras.

Anurag Saikia’s career began when he began composing music for Assamese films and independent projects.
